The Milk is Back Baby – Recipes Are Coming

You may have noticed that the shelf stable milk is back on the menu after a brief hiatus.

Not sure if this permanent or if AFM will be having is on some months and off others. This may be a welcomed return for some and not-so-welcomed return in the minds of others.

Nevertheless, it’s the perfect opportunity to begin our archive of recipes on our blog – starting with our next post.

The recipes we share will come from various sources, including originals for “chef” Chad (the St. Andrew EPC Host Site Director).

We’d also like for you to start sharing recipes with us too. Click here to submit yours.

Pie Cooking Instructions

The December menu featured a Sweet Potato Pie that we’re sure many of you will love. Sometimes, the instructions for cooking AFM pies are not fully clear on the package. In case you are curious, here is the instructions for the Sweet Potato Pie:

  • Pre-heat oven to 400° F and use lower rack for baking.
  • Place frozen pie on cookie sheet or other suitable tray.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 400° F.
  • Lower temperature to 350° F and continue baking for an additional 60 minutes.
  • Pie is done when knife inserted into center comes out clean.

For more info and instructions on how to cook other AFM distributed pies, please see the Angel Food Ministries website.
